Down to Earth is a family business in the plainest sense: two brothers, Dan and Tim Murdoch, who between them do the gardening and the groundwork across Winchester, Chandler's Ford and the wider Hampshire area.

Both are directors of Down to Earth Winchester Ltd, incorporated in July 2021 and registered at Companies House under number 13522364. That is the part of the story we can point you at — and there is a good deal of gardening in Hampshire behind it that predates the paperwork.

What the two of us cover is deliberately broad. There is the regular round — mowing, edging, weeding, borders and hedges — and there is the heavier end: clearing overgrown plots, taking out banks with a mini digger, running fence lines, laying turf, building patios, paths and drives. Most firms pick one or the other. Doing both means we can clear a garden, build what goes on it and then keep it right afterwards, which is usually what people actually want and rarely what they are offered.

The reviews say the rest better than we can. One client has had us coming weekly for a couple of years; another says their garden has grown and developed alongside our business over well more than a decade. A third put it as simply as anyone has: honest, hardworking, knowledgeable and great at their job.
